#1 PROTOTYPE



"I am studying the use of accelerometers because I want to explore/visualize human movement in different mediums"



Experimented with different sensors:
Myo, Arduino, and Wiifit





Goal:
Record accelerometer data from different types of activity, and manipulate the data using Processing/OF/Java





#2 PROTOTYPE
What I learned from last week:
  • Myo measures only muscle twitches
  • Arduino boards too bulky for mobile use
  • Retrieve X, Y, Z data from Arduino to Processing/OF

    Sew lilypads on clothing (starting with one accelerometer for now)




    Challenges:
  • Inaccurate data readings due to length from power source to accelerometer
  • Folding shirt eliminates power source

    Next steps:
  • Write uniform code for visuals so different activities can compare/contrast
  • Create sets of code so users can filter (generic/abstract) on processing
